Classroom Policies/Procedures
DISCIPLINE: I use a chart system for discipline. Each child starts out on green each morning. First they are given a verbal warning. The next infraction they must move their marker so yellow shows. This results in the loss of 5 minutes of recess the next day. The third infraction results in moving their marker to red. Red means they lose 10 minutes of recess the next day. The fourth infraction they move their marker to white. This results in the loss of 10 minutes of recess plus standards. If a student moves off the chart in the course of one day, parents will be notified. In cases of extreme or repetetive unacceptable behavior, steps may be skipped.
ABSENCES: Students returning from absences are required to bring an absence excuse signed by a parent or guardian. For each day of an excused absence the student will have one day to complete make-up work.
]TESTS: Spelling, Phonics/Language, and Writing tests will normally be given on Fridays. Regular Math tests will be given once a week. I do not make up Spelling tests.
