Classroom Policies/Procedures
DISCIPLINE: I use a stoplight chart system for discipline. Each child starts out on green each morning. First they are given a verbal warning. The next infraction they must move their marker to yellow . This results in the loss of 5 minutes of recess the next day. The third infraction results in moving the marker to red . Red means you lose 10 minutes of recess the next day. The fourth infraction they move to white. This will result in the loss of 10 minutes of recess plus standards. If a student moves off the chart in the course of one day, parents will be notified. For cases of extreme or repetitive unacceptable behavior, steps may be skipped.
ABSENCES: Students returning from absences are required to bring an absence excuse signed by a parent or guardian. For each day of an excused absence the student will have one day to complete make-up work.
TESTS: Spelling, Phonics/Language, and Writing tests will normally be given on Fridays. Regular Math tests will be given once a week. Math Facts tests will be given periodically. Social Studies and Science tests will be given when we complete a unit. Study sheets will be sent home for those tests only. I do not make up Spelling tests.
