Classroom Policies & Procedures
The 3rd & 4th Grade Class pledge to:
1. Respect everyone and everything at Light and Life.
2. Listen and Follow Directons
3. Keep my hands and feet quiet and to myself.
4. Be safe by walking and using things correctly.
5. Ms. Kelly's Rule: The word can't is not allowed in my classroom. Anybody can do anything if they try and practice.
To encourage students to use these guidelines in a positive way, I will recognize and support positive actions and responsibility. Students will earn colored marbles that function as money in our class store, which will be open monthly. On the other hand, if a student makes a series of inappropriate choices the following steps will be taken:
1st Time: Verbal Warning
2nd Time: Move from Green to Yellow on behavior
chart.
3rd Time: Move from Yellow to Orange + 10 mins. of
recess/lunch play time.
4th Time: Move from Orange to Red + Think Sheet +
15 mins. of recess/lunch playtime.
5th Time: Contact parent/guardian
In certain circumstances I may move from a warning to contacting the parent/guardian such as: Fighting/Hitting, Swearing, Cheating, etc.
Our homework policy is as follows:
I understand that illness and doctor's appointments happen. In these situations, both classwork and homework will be made available for the student and they will be given 1 day, for each day missed, to complete missed work as long as a note signed by a parent/guardian or doctor is presented to me.
